Katie has a master’s degree in social work and is the author of three books, as well as several educational programs. Her books are:
• Dying to Change: My Really Heavy Life Story; which is her autobiography
• Small Bites: Daily Inspirations for Weight Loss Surgery Patients, and
• Katie Jay’s™ Weight Loss Surgery Stages of Transformation; which is based on her research, and includes a description of the emotional and psychological stages people go through after bariatric surgery.
Katie is a sought-after keynote speaker, trainer, workshop and retreat leader, researcher, and wellness coach. She also assists surgeons, bariatric programs, and hospitals to develop, improve, and optimize bariatric surgery services from a psychosocial perspective.
Katie had weight loss surgery seven years ago, at the age of 44, and maintains a 180-pound weight loss.
